Hello and welcome to my blog The Art Of German Cuisine 🇩🇪! My name is Nadine and I was born and raised in Germany. I am now living in the beautiful state of Washington. My hubby Michael and I moved to the US in 2006 after a job opportunity opened up for him and we just L.O.V.E. it here! We live an hour north of Seattle with our two German Shepherds 🐶, two kitties 🐱, a flock of chickens 🐣 (yummy fresh eggs every day), and a bunch of bee hives 🐝 (fresh local honey, can it get any better?). I grew up in a small village in the Hessen region, in central Germany. Since childhood I had a big interest in cooking and baking. Big feasts for holiday and birthday celebrations are a big part of our culture and German’s love to make everything from scratch – yes scratch, we German’s don’t care for ready-to-eat-food 😊. My talented mom, who is a trained chef, has been passing her secrets and talent on to me for as long as I can remember (thank you mom ☺️). I would love to share these secrets with you all, help you make some delicious home-cooked meals German style, in easy to follow step-by-step recipes.
